Sales and Business Development Leader

Cabco is seeking a self-motivated, results-driven sales leader to join our growing team out of our Dartmouth, NS office.

As part of an entrepreneurial team, the ideal candidate has a strong local network, loves being active in the community, and is a self-starter with a passion for technology solutions. Excellent communication, organization and time-management skills are required. You work well in a fast paced, supportive, goal-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Sales leadership for commercial technology solutions, including telephony, structured cabling, wireless and premise security.

  • Develop and coordinate sales activities to maximize existing sales opportunities and develop new market opportunities.

  • Quote preparation and presentation, in association with divisional leaders.

  • Develop new accounts through active prospecting, referrals, leads and personal initiatives.

  • Relationship building and management of key customers.

  • Sales reporting and analysis.

  • Community participation, including representing Cabco at industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a sales-focused role, with an IT background being a bonus.

  • Flawless written and verbal communication skills.

  • Process oriented, with a track record of professional achievements, and a keen attention to detail.

Controller

Cabco is seeking a Controller to join our growing team. This position is based out of our Dartmouth, NS office and will report to the CEO.

Working in an entrepreneurial environment, the ideal candidate has an accounting designation and is looking to be the go-to finance resource in a fast-paced, team-focused company. Excellent communication, organization and time-management skills are required.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Financial statement preparation and management reporting

  • Cash flow management

  • Divisional reporting of key operating metrics on monthly basis

  • Budget and forecast preparation

  • Year-end coordination with external accountants

  • Management of administrative team, including oversight of payroll, inventory, AR, AP, bank reconciliations and government filings

  • Strategic planning alongside the senior leadership team

  • Supporting role to HR function, including pension and benefits administration

Qualifications:

  • Completed or near completion of CPA designation

  • Experience working in an accounting/finance role

  • Experience working with accounting software programs

  • Strong work ethic with a desire to be a company leader

  • Exceptional problem solving skills

Residential Telecom Technician

As a Residential Telecommunications Technician, you will help us continue to grow our company, by providing installation services that meet the needs and expectations of our residential customers.

About you:

·         You are reliable and hard-working

·         You are positive and work well independently or in a team environment

·         You are efficient and organized

·         You have a reputation for being customer–focused and have a professional approach to your daily work

·         You are very comfortable working at heights on aerial pole line infrastructure in all weather conditions

What you will be doing:

·         Installation of telephone, internet, security and cable television connectivity for residential customers

·         Representing our Carrier services partner in a professional, courteous manner

Your qualifications:

·         A valid driver’s license

·         Bondable

·         Experience not required as we are looking for people who are interested in a career in the telecommunications industry and will train, however previous exposure to internet, telephone, security, cabling or IT environments would be considered an asset

Communications Cabling Technician

 As our business grows, Cabco is seeking a Communications Technician to work out of our Moncton, NB or Dartmouth, NS offices.

A self-starter with a passion for technology, you are comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a collaborative, goal-oriented atmosphere. You have a reputation for being reliable, customer–focused and approach your daily work in an efficient, highly organized manner.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Implementation, installation, troubleshooting and integration of structured cabling systems

  • Collaborate with the team to help design and implement solutions for both new and existing customers, based on specific needs and requirements.

  • Learning new skills via interaction with our Premises Security and Telecommunications teams.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the installation, troubleshooting and integration of structured cabling is preferred.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with certification or equivalent industry training.

  • Positive attitude and ability to effectively communicate with staff, vendors and customers.

  • Ability to work in a physical labour workplace.

  • Willingness to travel and work nightshifts/weekends (as required).

  • Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety training requirements to maintain a successful safety record.

  • Experience working on lifts considered an asset.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Fibre Optic Splicer

Cabco’s Fibre Optic Services division is experiencing tremendous growth, so we are seeking a qualified Fibre Optic (fusion) Splicer based out of our Dartmouth, NS office.  This key position requires hands-on experience with single mode and multi-mode fusion splicing and ODTR testing.

 Key Responsibilities include:

-        Ability to manage the complete splicing process, ensuring key milestones are reached.

-        Coordinate job schedules in cooperation with Cabco’s Outside Plant team, clients and subcontractors.

-        Ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all required splicing activities.

-        Utilize various test equipment to analyze equipment trouble and take appropriate maintenance action.

-        Interpret schematic work order drawings to determine job specifications, material and equipment requirements to establish a plan of operation.

-        Experience in how to read and interpret outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints.

-        Maintain records, prepare reports and correct work order drawings to ‘as built’ plant.

-        Perform quality tests for new and in-place facilities.

 Personal attributes and skills required:

-        Previous experience (5 years+) as a single and multi-mode fusion splicer.

-        Gr. 12 diploma/GED and job-related courses an asset.

-        You have a reputation for being efficient and committed to quality workmanship.

-        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a professional approach to your work.

-        Ability to work from oral or written instructions and plan work without direct supervision.

-        Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while prioritizing and focusing on core tasks.

-        Takes initiative to provide value added support to the team and other technical personnel as required.

-        Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements to maintain a successful safety record.

-        Ability to work outside in all weather conditions as required.

-        Must be willing to respond to after-hours callouts, overtime, shifts and weekends.

-        Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, identify and distinguish colors, work in confined spaces and with heights.

-        Must have a valid driver’s license and candidates must be bondable.

Security Technician

 As our business grows, Cabco is seeking a Security Technician to work out of our Moncton, NB or Dartmouth, NS offices.

  • Collaborate with the team to help design and implement solutions for both new and existing customers, based on specific needs and requirements.

  • Train customers to use their equipment and provide technical service support (both remotely and on-site).

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience installing and troubleshooting CCTV, alarm systems and access controls is required.

  • Knowledge of communications cabling and IP networking considered an asset.

  • You have a reputation for being reliable and approach your daily work in an efficient, professional manner.

  • You have a natural interest in technology and are open to further technical training and learning.

  • Ability to work in a physical labour workplace.

  • Willingness to travel and work nightshifts/weekends (as required).
